Klopp points out the flaw in Germany’s tactics

Germany is about to enter a decisive match in the last match of Group F of Euro 2020 against Hungary. After the victory that destroyed Portugal with a score of 4-2 on June 19, the German players are burning with enthusiasm in the competition for the top of Group F. However, Liverpool’s head coach, Jurgen Klopp still has a bit unsatisfied with Joachim Low’s system.

“It’s not good when you judge a colleague’s tactics because every coach has the right to make his or her own decisions. But if it were me, I would play with four defenders. I personally don’t like the three defenders very much,” Klopp told Magenta TV.

Matt Hummels is placed in the center of a three-man midfield by Joachim Low

The three-back formation has been a source of controversy since Low began using it as a solution to the defence. This is clearly a squad not unfamiliar to Germany in the past. Moreover, in the composition of the German team at this time, the core is the players on the Bayern Munich payroll playing alongside the players of Real Madrid and Man City. All three of these clubs in the last season very rarely played with a three-back formation. Therefore, it is clear that the players will find it difficult to integrate immediately when playing for Germany.

“I can imagine a midfield trio with Joshua Kimmich, Ilkay Gundogan and Toni Kroos, this would be a dream midfield for any team. Everyone will be able to play in the position they are most comfortable with,” Klopp supported Germany’s return to a 4-3-3 formation.

Obviously, the trio of central defenders in the system that Low built did not help Die Mannschaft become more certain. The proof is that they have conceded 3 goals after the first 2 matches in Euro 2020. Even with Manuel Neuer in the woodwork, Germany still cannot keep a clean sheet.

Jurgen Klopp hopes Low will say goodbye to Germany by winning the Euro

In the next match against Hungary, Low will certainly remain loyal to his tactical calculation. If continuing to help Germany have a positive result, it will be a strong statement of Low before the comments of experts and Klopp.

“Tactical factors aside, I wish Joachim Low the championship. It will be a happy end to Low’s reign in the national team and I will be very happy for him,” Klopp concluded.
