Alonso case made coach M’Gladbach suddenly “turn the car”

The world media on March 22 simultaneously reported that Xabi Alonso had reached all the necessary agreements to officially become the head coach of Borussia Monchengladbach since the new season. This information was even confirmed by the extremely famous transfer reporter, Fabrizio Romano, on Twitter.

However, everything seems to be still not really settled when recently, the German press quickly reported that Xabi Alonso led Borussia Monchengladbach was not completely accurate.

Specifically, through his personal Twitter page, Sport Bild reporter Christian Falk said: “The case of Alonso leading M’Glabach next season is still not entirely accurate. Max Eberl – M’Gladbach’s sporting director is still talking. Talk to some other candidates. There are more options than Alonso that we don’t know yet.”

Information about Alonso as coach of M’Gladbach is not official yet

With this information, it seems that Fabrizio Romano was a bit hasty in confirming information about the new captain of the club playing in the Bundesliga. Or further, maybe M’Gladbach needs a little more time to find the best candidate to replace Marco Rose, who will go to Dortmund to lead the army from next season.

It is also possible that the German club and Alonso have only reached preliminary agreements and still need to negotiate further before signing the official contract…

Shortly after the announcement, Romano himself corrected on his Twitter as follows:

“Update on Xabi Alonso and Borussia Mönchengladbach. The Spaniard is considered the first choice for the position of head coach and he has had a discussion with Borussia about ideas for the upcoming plan. But Xabi has *NOT* signed any contract yet, he is still waiting as Real Sociedad has not made an official announcement yet.”

The experience of working with Pep at Bayern will help Alonso in the case of becoming a coach

When he was still a player, he played for a series of famous clubs such as Liverpool, Real Madrid or Bayern Munich. The former star born in 1981 has won many noble titles such as La Liga, Bundesliga, Champions League (2 times), world gold cup in 2010 or crowned at EURO 2008 and 2012.

In the case of becoming M’Gladbach’s head coach, Alonso’s immediate task is of course to revive the M’Gladbach ship that is showing signs of decay under coach Marco Rose. The former midfielder has had 3 seasons playing in the Bundesliga (from 2014 to 2017), so Alonso has the advantage of understanding the German football environment.

Alsonso’s limitation is certainly not much experience in managing the top playing fields because he only led the youth team Real Madrid and Real Sociedad B. In return, this strategist is highly appreciated in terms of investment. Only because he was led by famous teachers such as Rafa Benitez, Jose Mourinho, Carlo Ancelotti and especially Pep Guardiola, who gave him a lot of land to act at Bayern.
