After winning the Serie A title last season, Inter Milan has had a tumultuous summer. On the coaching bench, Antonio Conte, due to disagreement with the BLD, left to make room for Simone Inzaghi. In addition, the Nerazzurri also lost two main cards, defender Achraf Hakimi and striker Romelu Lukaku. However, the green half of Milan still has an impressive start to the new season.

Inter Milan vs Genoa

Welcoming the favorite “prey” Genoa, Inter Milan played in the 3-5-1-1 diagram. Because Lautaro Martinez had to serve a suspended sentence, rookie Edin Dzeko took the lead. Supporting the old Bosnian general was Stefano Sensi. In midfield, rookie Hakan Calhanoglu also joined Barella, Darmian, Brozovic and Perisic.

With the position of the defending champion, Inter Milan rushed to attack right after the opening whistle. The score was also opened very early for the home team from a set piece. From Calhanoglu’s corner, centre-back Milan Skriniar headed high into the net of Genoa. A start could not be more favorable for the Nerazzurri.

In an exciting and comprehensive match, Inter Milan quickly got the second goal after the combination of two rookies. In the 14th minute, Dzeko created an assist for Calhanoglu to finish from outside the penalty area, the ball went tight and dangerous, making the Genoa goalkeeper unable to stop in time. 2-0 for the green half into Milan!

The defending champion started jubilantly

Conceding 2 goals quickly, Genoa revived his spirit and played more closely. However, they are no longer constricted to bear the battle but are always ready to counterattack when given the opportunity. The game became more interesting and even, but no more goals were scored for the remainder of the first half.

After the break, Genoa had 3 changes at the same time to increase the power of the attack. The counter-attacks of the visitors are quite dangerous, but they cannot beat an excellent Handanovic. Witnessing Inter Milan gradually losing the game, coach Inzaghi brought “warrior” Arturo Vidal to the field in the middle of the second half instead of Sensi.

Rookie striker Dzeko scored the goal to make the score 4-0

Less than 5 minutes on the field, Vidal scored to raise the score to 3-0 for Inter Milan. At this point, victory is considered to be firmly in the hands of the defending champion. For the remaining 15 minutes, Genoa tried to find an honorable goal but failed. Even the away team had to receive 1 more goal in the 87th minute.

Vidal continued to leave his mark with an accurate assist for Dzeko to hit the header from close range to seal a 4-0 victory for Inter Milan. The match ended with positive signals from rookie pair Dzeko and Calhanoglu. New coach Inzaghi also had an impressive official debut.
